 I can confirm this happens with Pidgin 2.7.7 (latest) on Linux, for ICQ
 protocol.  Incoming messages are black, while outgoing are blue in my
 case. [[BR]]

 In 2.5.5, it worked just fine and settings for incoming/outgoing messages
 colors were used to be applied to whole lines, not just nicknames.  Now it
 seems to be applied to outgoing messages while it's ignored and remains
 black for incoming messages. [[BR]]

 Tried setting everything in preferences and plugins, unfortunately to no
 avail.  Having incoming messages color-coded was really great.
