Comment:

 Enabling DBus support would involve no work on our part once the Windows
 port of DBus is stable enough to work reliably (at least I assume we
 wouldn't need to do anything to use it though it might require support for
 specifying the location of the DBus session/system/etc. bus to use but
 that is relatively simple).

 Enabling support for "socket based communication" would require creating
 an IPC mechanism, which is not nearly as easy of a task. As such this
 isn't really something that makes much sense for us to spend time working
 on as any time spent on this would almost certainly be better spent just
 getting the Windows port of DBus to a usable state.
