 The people that have reported this crash on the Adium forums said this:

 Well, since I updated Adium to the newest 1.4.1 version it'll
 automatically close after 10 seconds. It does connect all my accounts but
 10 or 15 seconds after that it crashes

 It has been crashing for me too since I updated to 10.6.5 and adium 1.4.1
 usually within a few mins.
