 Hi,

 I use Pidgin 2.7.7 from Ubuntu PPA on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick.
 In my ICQ account I have set the encoding to cp1251 and this works mostly
 well.
 When I used 2.7.3, in my list I had some ICQ contacts which were shown
 only as their UIN numbers. When I did 'Get Info' for the contact, it
 showed its first name in Cyrillic (decoded from cp1251). Starting with
 2.7.5, I noticed that these contacts are now shown in the Buddy List as if
 their First Names were decoded from iso8859-1 - Latin diacritics mess
 instead of cp1251. Probably the encoding specified in ICQ account should
 be considered when displaying buddy names in the list as well.

 For an example, please look at ICQ number 173555887 - its proper first
 name should be Мегалинк (Megalink) as it is shown in 'Buddy Information'
 window opened on 'Get Info'. And in the main Buddy List it is shown as
 Ìåãàëèíê which is an unreadable mess to Russian reader.
