 The typoed character is certainly a bug (which I will commit the fix for
 shortly).

 I'm curious what you mean by "Anyone upgrading from a pre network-manager
 installation will try that option".  Is the implication that nobody wants
 Pidgin to use network manager's network availability detection?  The only
 people who would need to use that argument are those who have network
 manager installed, but not configured to properly support their network
 configuration (if this is a common case, there is a problem somewhere
 else).
