 When receiving certain messages via ICQ, pidgin will not accept them, but
 display
 ''(There was an error receiving this message.  The buddy you are speaking
 with is probably using a different encoding than expected.  If you know
 what encoding he is using, you can specify it in the advanced account
 options for your AIM/ICQ account.)''
 instead.

 Changing the encoding in the advanced ICQ preferences (tried: iso-8859-1,
 iso-8859-15, utf-8) and restarting pidgin doesn't have any effect. Other
 side uses Miranda 0.9.8 without Unicode.

 This did work in pidgin version 2.7.2 with iso-8859-1 specified as the
 encoding. OS used is Windows 7.
