 Steps to reproduce: Open pidgin and leave it on for a long time (sometimes
 hours, sometimes days). Come back to find it has crashed of its own
 accord.

 Crash report and debug log attached.

 Seems similar to #11963 and #12459 but those tickets did not have full
 info and were in older versions of pidgin.
