 Incoming messages which contain polish national characters like 'ą', 'ć',
 'ę', 'ł', 'ń', 'ó', 'ź', 'ż' do not appear in the chat window. They look
 like empty messages. In history window they are also broken: "łączka"
 looks like "(10:37:11) navz: ??czka'

 Encoding for outgoing messages is also broken. When I write "pustą
 linijkę" to somebody, he receives "pustÄ… linijkÄ™". The same with user
 status encoding.

 My system is Debian 5.0 squeeze. Everything works perfectly under 2.6.5.
