 While looking for the logs for September, I noticed I didn't have any for
 one of my friends. The logs were not missing, but instead attached to the
 last log of August, the 30th. I guess Pidgin had been running as long as
 my computer had been up, 11 days, and went through the month change
 without starting a new log file.

 After I restarted Pidgin, the log finally truncated and started a new
 section for September. It doesn't seem to be a huge problem, thus I am
 labeling this as an enhancement, the only issue I have with this is that
 it makes finding logs a little hard and I have a 2MB log file now for the
 first 10 days of September.

 The screen shot attached shows my fat log file for the days of Aug 30-Sept
 10th.
