 I found it. http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/12177
 Ctrl+Shift+V = paste as plain text. That should help.

 I still believe we could have an option to set Ctrl+V as to paste as plain
 text (reverse the two paste modes), OR when formatting is disabled, make
 this the default option.
