Comment(by smitty):

 guys, think about it, its not even debatable.

 when the modem reconnects, pidgin tries to reconnect to the icq server,
 right?
 and the server receives a login command from the computer and then for
 some reason sends back an error message '''to the new ip''' my computer
 just got instead of just doing like everybody else and just reconnecting.

 So logically the old ip won't ever respond to the server since its gone
 into the ether.

 So its still pidgin who sent the login command to the icq server in the
 1st place, with my own login info.

 what's to debate about ?

 so you see, its not a matter of "impersonating me" since my new ip is the
 one that sent the login command with my login info, its the server itself
 sending this test message back to see if the computer on the ip has the
 software running with my login info.

 and yes it does since pidgin is loaded and so it should just handle this
 error.

 i don't see why its so complicated when all other networks just handle
 this and let the user login without any problem.
