Comment:

 The debug log was not generated by the problematic pidgin instance -
 pidgin was already running when you launched the instance that generated
 the log, so it didn't actually make a new pidgin instance, it brought the
 previous one to the screen instead.

 You'll need to make sure that no existing instances are running and then
 launch a new one to get debug output.
