 I also have a 100% CPU time usage problem with Pidgin, but strangely, on
 only one machine.


 The machine in question is an Asus Eee701 Netbook.

 I have used on this machine Leeenux v3 (which I don't ever recall having
 this problem with) and also Leeenux v4.01 which is when I first noticed
 it.

 This week I formatted and installed Lubuntu 11.04 as Leeenux v4 is just
 generally buggy and has problems in other areas, thinking that would solve
 my Pidgin problem.


 I am running Pidgin 2.9.0 from the official Pidgin PPA (as I do on two
 other machines which run Ubuntu)

 The accounts are the same, the add-on packages (OTR and Gfire) are the
 same, the only difference is that after a short time running (I don't even
 need to be talking to anyone) Pidgin just starts using 100% CPU time for
 no apparent reason, and does not appear to recover. I must kill the
 process manually.


 This does not happen on any other machines I have, which use a variety of
 Ubuntu, Windows XP and Windows 7.
