 We currently have two UI hacks in place for XMPP, to provide Google Talk
 and Facebook shortcuts. Once MSN-XMPP works, that'll be a third hack, too.
 But they're still hacks, and would be difficult to do in GTK+3 also.

 Protocols should be able to describe "variants" or something like that
 with some alternate default settings. Maybe they'd show up as "Google Talk
 (over XMPP)".

 The alternative is to continue with the hacks (which is not really
 sustainable or desirable), or to create multiple prpls (like Yahoo! +
 Yahoo! Japan, I think).
