 Let me say first, I did research and play for over an hour. There are
 solutions to my question online, but solutions I just don't understand.

 All I want to, is turn off that popup tooltip that appears when I hover or
 pass over the buddy list.  The techs who reply give a GTK line of code,
 but not enough details for me to know wherte/what to edit.  Nothing seems
 to work. I'm not a new, but I'm not a programmer either.  Can anybody give
 me STEPS to disable the annoying tooltips that appear all over my dual
 screens as I move my mouse between them.
