#14848: disable-nm has no effect / NetworkManager issues

My OS is Slackware 13.37 with NetworkManager 0.9.2 from Gnome Slackbuild.

When I compile Pidgin normally without any options and run this, I always
get a "Waiting for connection", it doesn't recognize NetworkManager
 connected to a network.

I thought, compiling it with the --disable-nm option would make it ignore
the NetworkManager but it is still telling me that message.

So I have two problems here: I cant compile it without nm support AND it
 doesn't work with nm 0.9.2

(Pidgin version is 2.10.1 but I can't choose that.)
