 This would be very cool. In Ubuntu 11.10, there is a DBus signal sent
 which Pidgin could make use of. At the moment, with my XMPP server, when I
 suspend my computer and Pidgin doesn't tell the server I am in fact
 offline, the server thinks I'm still connected and sends messages from my
 friends to me, not bothering if they don't get delivered, thus resulting
 in me losing messages sent to me between the time I suspend and the time
 the server realises I am in fact offline (the connection times out).
