Comment:

 '_' is an invalid character in DNS hostnames; it's used for various non-
 hostname-ey things in DNS (SRV records, etc).

 I'll find a specific reference in RFCs if you want, but see
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostname#Restrictions_on_valid_host_names
