 I'll give more information. Let me know if there's anything else I can
 provide.

 This happens both with very new, and old MSN accounts.
 It has failed for all addresses I've tried, though I haven't tried adding
 hotmail addresses.
 I'm in the UK, and my PCs are configured that way.
 It happens both on Win32, and amd64 Linux (ubuntu) builds.
 Adding contacts does work fine with Bitlbee.
