 To clarify. We've seen a handful of issues/unpleasant results from the
 auto-parenting code on Desktop machines and rather than simply remove
 support for it entirely and leaving maintenance of it all to you for your
 Maemo purposes I mentioned that we could simply define out the body of the
 auto-parent function unless a suitable define was set. So all you would
 need to do is define it when you build.

 Patches to add that are welcome. (For the record I feel super lazy asking
 for that but seeing as how I haven't actually done any pidgin coding in a
 while it'll be faster this way.)
