 He wants you to verify that you can ping talk.l.google.com,
 talk3.l.google.com, etc.  (Use "ping talk.l.google.com" in an xterm,
 gnome-terminal, or whatever is appropriate to enter commands manually for
 your environment.)  He also wants you to see if you can establish a
 connection to talk.l.google.com or talk3.l.google.com with the telnet
 command like so: {{{ telnet talk.l.google.com 5222 }}}
