 Basically I was copy/pasting a link to a message board, the full link is
 this (no quotations)

 "http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/197339-final-fantasy-tactics"

 Copy/pasting that into the message box would cause a crash/freeze 100% of
 the time, and when I tried manually typing it in, it would crash/freeze
 100% of the time when I entered the first "t".

 I could type all the way up to

 "http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/197339-final-fantasy-"

 without a crash, but as soon as the "t" is entered the crash occurs.
 Pidgin hangs and won't do anything then eventually I get the generic
 application is not being responsive message and I close it out.

 I guess I'll also add that this program does NOT occur in Finch.
