 This has been an ongoing problem for a while, but I have only just
 realized it.

 In Pidgin, when using the msn protocol, I cannot receive 'buddy' requests
 (when somone adds you to msn). When I launch Kopete messenger, I can view
 the invitations. Logging back into pidgin after Kopete then invitations
 are there.

 Any ideas of what might be causing this?

 And for some contacts, they always appear offline even though they are
 online and talking to me, I appear online to them
