 You can search for strings in the pidgin log viewer as well (no need to
 use the gmail archive/interface for that). There's no way (with the text
 logger) to tag the logs inline so you would need to keep an external
 'tags' file with line/column/offset/etc. values for the log files to do
 this sort of thing. With the html logger you could likely insert non-
 visible tags to do this if you wanted to (though that may have side
 effects when viewing the logs in pidgin).

 There isn't going to be a way to tag the locations in a way that gmail
 interface is going to support without Google Talk supporting some
 mechanism for that (and no mechanism of that sort exists that I'm aware
 of).
