 Dear Pidgin Supporters,

 I had a less well documented problem with the IRC authentication. This has
 been solved with the IRC helper plugin that I got from the Plugin Pack. I
 believe that this is third-party code but I would warmly recommend to link
 this very useful pack in your download section. This would have saved me a
 lengthy search through many dead links and not so conclusive hints in
 forums. I had read the FAQ which is elaborate but could not help in this
 case.
