Comment:

 Okay, I think this may actually be a problem in Pidgin (the code seems
 EXTREMELY fragile and prone to breakage).  If you wouldn't mind rebuilding
 Pidgin with the patch that's about to be posted to this ticket, I'd be
 interested in a debug log (valgrind probably not necessary) of it crashing
 with that patch.
