 The chat window with one of my friends always has a horizontal scroll bar
 that shows about 50% more space.  It's always the same friend, and it
 always happens.  There appears to be no reason for it, as all the content
 wraps as though it were not there.  If I have multiple conversations open
 in the same window, his tab will still show the issue, but none of the
 others will.

 I can't think of anything specific to this one friend that might be
 triggering this.  I'm happy to look into anything needed, try patches,
 give more information, etc.; I just don't know where to start.
