I've got a Live account which I use with Pidgin 2.7.7 that people are
supposed to be able to write to when using a web browser interface (like
to one at http://www.lxcoach.uppsala.se/student.php). However, when the
chat starts, the conversation is broken if both of the users are inactive
for 60 seconds. This is a major nuisiance which renders Pidgin unusable
when talking to people that are logged in through web browser interfaces.

Running Empathy on Ubuntu doesn't cause this behaviour, neither does
running Pidgin when chatting with users that are using clients which
aren't a web interface (e.g. ordiniary Live Messenger, or Adium).

 EDIT:
The problem is still present in Pidgin 2.7.9 on Windows 2003, so I'm
fairly sure this issue can be narrowed down to Pidgin.
