 Until today I could never successfully setup facebook chat on pidgin.
 turns out my password was too long for FB (22char). once i changed it to a
 password under 14 chars, Pidgin connected to FB perfectly.

 since FB uses the XMPP i assume the same problem exists for XMPP servers.
 If i'm wrong, please re categorize this appropriately.
