Comment:

 Virtually none of the pidgin developers speak the language used by the
 majority of the QQ users, which means that very few of the developers even
 have (or can reasonably get) QQ accounts. As such QQ has always been a low
 priority and not something that most people can work on. For a short while
 a group of native Chinese speaking developers was working on the QQ plugin
 and giving us changes/fixes/etc. They have not, to my knowledge, done that
 in quite a while though. I don't know whether they have stopped working on
 it or whether they have simply stopped talking to us or what.

 All I know is that there is really very little that can meaningfully be
 done about our QQ support without someone who actually uses it and speaks
 its predominant language from appearing to help out.

 The default version has recently been changed (it wasn't for a while
 because we believed that introduced further issues even as it solved some
 issues).
