 I'm running Pidgin 2.7.9 (libpurple 2.7.9) on ubuntu. I can chat back and
 forth with people running Sametime 8.5.x just fine. But if I try to
 initiate a session with a person running the 8.0.2 client, I get this in
 the chat window: Unable to send message: 0x80000009

 The server is running at least 8.5.1.. I'm not sure, and I don't know what
 to check in the debug log to confirm that. I did (unfortunately) have to
 censor the debug log (to scrub email/IP addresses..), but the 0x80000009
 message code is there.
