 These patches are against the mtn trunk, just one or the other should
 work.  I could tarball my mtn tree if you don't have mtn available.

 It fixed it for me, with 4 cameras plugged in.  I'd be interested in you
 launching pidgin with -d, fire up the debug window, add a vvconfig filter
 and then start the settings.  Post the output from the debug window with
 filter so I can see where it was failing and try to do a better fix.
