#14384: pidgin in winxp is writing ACCOUNTS.XML and PREFS.XML, pidgin in ubuntu
doesn't recognise them

As above. I have a dual boot of winxp SP3 and Ubuntu 11.04 32bit. Pidgin
installs in both are pointed at the same .purple directory. Sometimes when
I use pidgin in winxp, it will write accounts.xml and prefs.xml with ALL
CAPS filenames; the Ubuntu version seems to not recognise these, and
writes new ones with lowercase filenames.

The result of this is that it appears to start up as a fresh install, with
default settings and no accounts or contacts.

Deleting the new lowercase files and renaming the uppercase filenames to
 lowercase fixes the problem.

Problem appeared with pidgin 2.7.11 originally. I have replicated it in
 2.9.0.

 TO REPLICATE (in linux):
Close pidgin. Rename accounts.xml to ACCOUNTS.XML, and prefs.xml to
PREFS.XML. Start pidgin. To fix, delete the new accounts.xml and prefs.xml
files and restore the old ones.
