 This isn't a problem with Windows.

 Windows native filesystems are "case sensitive" in that if you save a file
 with a particular name, it is actually saved with exactly the requested
 name.  Where they are not really case sensitive is that you can't have two
 files in the same directory that differ only by case.

 The problem here is that your filesystem driver (or something) appears to
 be malfunctioning and changing the case of the filename that's being
 saved.  There may be a setting that you need to tweak or perhaps it is a
 bug.

 This isn't something that Pidgin (or any application really) can be
 expected to deal with.
