 I'm also having this issue as of late, Pidgin has been crashing at an
 increasing rate lately.  Sometimes when I'm away, sometimes overnight,
 sometimes within seconds of opening Pidgin again after a crash.

 Checking my crash reports from when this started, they're almost all
 access violations involving ntdll.dll.  Two others involve libmsn.dll, one
 involves pidgin.dll, and one is just a read error.
