 I confirm this. Avatars doesn`t change at all, untill .purple folder is
 removed, and yahoo account is refreshed.

 I logged in with official client on a windows machine and it shows
 different avatars than pidgin installed on my linux machine.

 I`m using pidgin 2.9.0 on Mandriva Linux 2010.2 32bit.
