Comment:

 It's quite likely that the server you're using is enforcing your roster,
 in which case, this isn't something that Pidgin can really do much about
 (apart from, perhaps, dealing better with making sure that if the server
 gives an error during moving a buddy that it reverts the move).

 IIRC we've had a number of oracle people complaining about this behavior
 with Beehive.
