Comment:

 Is this still happening for you?  It's possible this was just a
 misconfigured certificate on AIM or ICQ's server.

 It's also possible that we need to use a different hostname when
 connecting to AIM or ICQ... but I haven't heard this problem from many
 people, so it doesn't seem widespread.
