 The Python.h I have seems to define _GNU_SOURCE and
 _XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED. But I am not sure it makes sense to depend on
 that. I think it'd be better to move the defines out of the USE_PYTHON
 block. (sorry, I noticed the question on the MUC, and thought I had
 responded, but I clearly didn't)
