Comment:

 Nothing in that output indicates any failure. It also doesn't show pidgin
 attempting to connect to any accounts or anything though. What exactly
 happens at that point? Do you get a crash notification dialog or anything?
 Are you sure pidgin isn't just hidden to the system tray?
