 On Windows version here using all standard out of the box plugins and
 such.

 When I copy text from another program like Firefox or Chrome and paste it
 into a chat window in Pidgin, I get extra space characters in long
 passages of text. Pasting the same text into other programs does not
 exhibit this problem.

 It looks to me like Pidgin is internally word-wrapping lines at ~72
 characters and adding in its own \n characters then just replacing them
 with superfluous spaces in the final output.

 Paste as plain text seems to get around this issue but it obviously strips
 all formatting and that isn't always ideal or wanted.
