 I have discovered that I can no longer send files on MSN protocol. It
 seems to be an issue which is in recent versions as this problem did not
 used to happen.

 I have tried with direct connection enabled and disabled.

 The problem is that my friend does not even receive a message telling him
 that I want to send him a file. After the timeout period it then says the
 transfer was cancelled.

 He is running Windows Live Messenger 2009 v14.0.8117.416
