 I have been using Pidgin on my home desktop computer (Dell Dimension 1500,
 Ubuntu 10.10 Lucid, 32bit) for many years now without any problems. I have
 also tried to use it on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1501, Ubuntu 10.10 Lucid,
 32bit) but every time I try to start it up Pidgin crashes and has to be
 force closed. At first I thought it was the Facebook plugin but it still
 crashes constantly after removing the plugin. I have tried installing from
 the Ubuntu Software Center, using apt-get, and from the PPA but with the
 same results every time. Not sure why I would be getting different results
 on almost identical machines. What else can I do to continue using Pidgin
 the way I would like to?
