Comment(by cw76):

I'm seeing part of the problem being described here. The copy/paste
within Pidgin works fine, but if I copy inside Pidgin and try to paste it
to another application, it does not paste anything. In doing so (copying
within Pidgin), it effectively clears the clipboard of whatever was in it
before with respect to pasting in other programs.

When I copy text out of a Pidgin window (with ctrl-c or right-click,
copy), I get this line in the Debug window:
(19:13:17) Gdk: gdkproperty-win32.c:214: GlobalAlloc failed: Not enough
storage is available to process this command.

Note that it says this always, despite the fact that it copies well enough
 to paste within Pidgin.

When I attempt to paste within Pidgin, I get this in the Debug window:
(19:13:10) Gdk: gdkproperty-win32.c:252: GlobalAlloc failed: Not enough
storage is available to process this command.

Pasting into other applications does not yield any debug output in Pidgin.

As the original reporter mentioned, this condition occurs after running
Pidgin continuously for an extended period of time. I leave my (untabbed)
conversation windows open (but minimized) and end up with quite a number
of them (21 at this moment). This has been occurring for a very long
time, though I don't recall which version it started appearing in.

 Thanks!
