Comment:

 I'd argue that this isn't a bug - the paste is actually being performed as
 plain text; any formatting that was part of what was be pasted will not be
 there.

 The "linkifying" is something separate - once the paste is complete,
 contents of the text field are evaluated in an unrelated process.
