 having the same problem, pidgin crashes when I accepte a video call from
 google talks or when I ask for one and it is accepted.

 here is the message I received (sorry it's in french) :

 Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: Ne peut ouvrir le fichier
 d'objet partagé: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
 Pidgin 2.7.11 a planté et a essayé de créer un fichier "core".
 Ceci est un problème logiciel et n'est pas dû à une
 utilisation erronée du logiciel de votre part.
