 The patch just attached implements basic support for keyring integration
 using plugins (and implements a plugin for gnome keyring). In difference
 to the gsoc project from 2008, this does not require any changes to
 existing APIs. It (obviously) introduces new APIs for managing keychains.

 With only API extensions, it ought to be easier to integrate, but there
 might be some tweaks necessary to ensure that the introduced APIs will not
 be immediately deprecated.
