 The problem I am encountering involves Pidgin completely freezing up for
 roughly 10-30 seconds at a time. This is problematic as it tends to occur
 every minute or more often, however it is well behaved once in a while and
 will go an hour or so without a freeze.

 When this freeze occurs, the chat window will stop displaying typed or
 received text (but will buffer typing briefly) before becoming completely
 unresponsive for a number of seconds. No user-side activity is necessary
 for this to occur. The program is talking to our company's XMPP server.

 Another thing potentially worthy of note is that when the freeze occurs,
 Pidgin's resource usage (RAM) jumps about triple what it normally uses
 (~30MB -> ~90MB).

 System details are:
 Core i7 Q720 @ 1.60 GHz
 8.00 GB RAM
 Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)

 This is occurring for my coworkers as well, namely those of us that have
 64-bit Thinkpads (mine is W510). Hopefully not all of this information is
 superfluous.
