 Hello, I got the same problem here.

 I have the official client and pidgin running on my machine and i noticed
 that, if my last message is sent using the official client, the following
 reply (incoming message) is able to appears on both clients, otherwise if
 the last message is sent using pidgin the following reply will appears on
 pidgin only
