 This is a very useful feature: you go invisible to everybody and then you
 can be visible only to some people, by manually selecting them with the
 "appear online to this person" option.

 Another useful feature is the inverse of that: you are online and visible
 to everybody, then you can select which ones you appear as off-line
 (invisible).

 I think MSN does this by playing with the Allow List and Block List,
 maybe. We can call it "selective status", because you can have individual
 status for each buddy (online or invisible).
